Almost done.....

The Graduation Open House Prep continues......

Is it weird that I need these stressful events to bring out the creative me?   It seems a bit odd, that I become more courageous when under a deadline.  I go from over-thinking EVERYTHING to becoming this confident creator - and I like it.
The question that begs to be asked is, "How do I tap into this freeing state of mind - without the stress?"  Is that even possible for me?
I was contemplating Funky Junk's "The One Scary Thing Challenge" this morning.  Wondering what Scary Thing I could put out there.  Confession:  putting my creations, my thoughts, my words out here in the electronic neverland is scary.  Questions like, "Why would anyone care to read about my crazy endeavors?"  and of course the joy-stealing, "What if no one cares/likes it?".

Much like some of you, I do it because, I have to.  This sharing with you brings life to my oft-overlooked need to share in creativity.

new back yard gate with doggie-proof threshold?

I am linking up today with Funky Junk http://www.funkyjunkinteriors.net/ and her fabulous "The One Scary Thing Challenge".  I can't wait to see what you all think is scary!!!

  1. The way I simulate that "deadline creativity" is by doing something--anything--without thinking overmuch about it. If it's wrong, so what? I can tweak or redo or do something else or go an entirely unexpected direction, but ultimately, at least the idea is out there for me to see, touch, interact with instead of stuck in my head.

I wish I could say I practice this all the time, but really, not nearly as much as I should.

jumping in head first.. for some reason
nothing scares me, well, except for driving
    a stick shift.. really.

  4. The whole necessity is the mother of invention thing... :) Loved your comment about the Norwegian do it yourself attitude in an earlier post. That is so my attitude and heritage... I've become a follower

  5. I love your blog. The design, the fonts, the content, the creator (or is it creatress?).

  6. Agreed...I often wonder right before I hit the 'publish' button, who wants to read this.
I'm an empty nester-- with lots to talk about, but not much to say really! I just blog about my life.

Welcome to blogging! Thanks for sharing your link at FJI-- one scary thing.

I look forward to reading more. I love the gate. Looks way better than my chicken gate--to keep the chicks in the property, rather than in the road! Cute garden pictures.
